kelteks Resin Excellent combination of mechanical performance
kelteks Resin
Formulations developed for use in several GRP production sectors, mainly based on orthopthalic, isophtalic, iso-NPG, DCPD, and Vinylester resins, allow to build a wide product range and high standard quality. Resins are designed for all GRP production sectors, such as the production of spoilers, silos, or boats. They can be applied either by manual stratification or spraying. The resins give good compatibility and wettability with fiberglass and good workability. They can be available with catalyst indicator and/or in low emission version.
Polyester Resin
Polyester resin is the traditional and still most widely used type of resin in composites. Polyester resins offer an excellent combination of mechanical performance, weathering and value for money. Their low cost and good weathering properties make them ideally suited to applications like flat roofing / waterproofing and pond lining, as well as traditional fiber glass projects such as boat-building, enclosures and mouldings for transport applications.
Isophthalic polyester resins are undoubtedly of a higher-grade and offer substantially higher strength, better flexibility and chemical resistance. This resin is perfect for fabricating dimensional stable polyester molds and corrosive service parts. It is often used as a durable repair material for tank linings. This Iso polyester resin offers fast wet-out in spray-up or hand laminates.
Orthophthalic polyester resin is the standard economic resin with good mechanical properties. To illustrate the important differences further, in laboratory tests, a fiberglass reinforced isophthalic polyester resin panel showed 10% higher flexural and 20% higher tensile properties than a comparable panel using orthophthalic polyester resin.
