Kelteks offers a wide range of additives and chemicals for curing and cleaning which are used in boat construction and building, lamination and DIY to provide better results of your finished products.

Catalyst, Stiren & Paraffin

Styrene solvent

Monostyrene is a colorless liquid with a luminous gas odor. It is not very soluble in water, lighter than water, and slowly polymerizes at room temperature. Almost all unsaturated polyester resins can be thinned with styrene.

Paraffin

Paraffin solution creates a protective layer on the outside of the polyester resin and prevents inhibition due to the influence of oxygen.

Catalyst

Organic peroxide initiator for cold cross-linking of unprotected PE resins and vinyl ester resins. By the addition of a catalyst to the matrix, it allows polyester, gelcoat, and vinyl ester resins to cure by reacting with the promoter in the resin or with heat. It starts the chemical reaction of the resin with the styrene monomer (present in the resin) allowing cross-links to form between them. When some of the cross-links have formed, the resin forms a gel and is said to be “gelled”. If most of the cross-links have formed, the resin forms a solid and now it is “cured”.

Acetone & Releasers

Releasers

are used when it comes to de-moulding GRP components from molds, to avoid damages of components during the process of separation. It has an excellent release property. This effect could be further improved in combination with PVA release varnish.

Acetone

for work preparation and cleaning. The cleaning of the surface to be treated serves to remove adhering solid layers such as dirt, rust, paint, and varnish, etc. Cleaning is a basic requirement for the desired strength of a reinforcement / adhesive with resin. Acetone is an excellent degreasing and cleaning agent. Ideal for cleaning brushes, spatulas, tools, and mixing containers. Cleans contact parts with which the resin should later stick. You can use acetone pure and undiluted as a solvent for many natural and synthetic resins, fats, and oils.

Fillers & Kits

Kits

We are using it for filling, repairs, and finishing layers in the construction of boat hulls. Kit based on polyester resins with good mechanical resistance, low shrinkage, and very good spillage. Suitable surfaces for working with putty are clean or sanded for parts made of polyester and glass fibers.

Talc

If added to polyester, vinyl ester, or epoxy resins talc could minimize resin drainage from vertical surfaces, increase bonding properties, and reduce the cost of the resin mix. They also affect the working and cure properties of the resin.

Kemiturasil

A fluffy powder with extremely small particle size, enormous surface, and high purity as reinforcing filler in resins, elastomers, like silicones, like free-flow additive in technical powders.
